About Kassi Valazza:
Kassi Valazza’s songs are reminiscent of her childhood growing up in the vast open spaces of Arizona. Her lyrics portray dark stories of the West and a yearning for home, while the music rides a thin line of country western and psych.

Lyrics:
I watched two woodpeckers chase you
Round and round an old pine tree
Dust covered lungs and dry skin
Meet the calling of a moon colored sink
Always awake
Always one foot out the door
The ghosts are out once more
Bright colored prisms are beaming
On the wood floor your grandfather made
What was the year he replaced them?
The squeaky floors
They answer unashamed
Always up late
It’s twenty hours home
But it’s a better drive alone
I lay beneath haunted ceilings
And I don’t know how but
I’m lacking certainty
What lives with in
has been burning
Like the burning of some holy inquiry
Moon blue
Old ways
The woods too wet to burn
I’ll let Summer have its turn
It’s August now
