4-Star Baylor QB Luke Babin made his Barbers Hill debut in a BIG way as the Eagles opened the 2026 season with a dominant 38-10 victory over Aldine Nimitz at Eagle Stadium. Babin, the highly touted Baylor commit who transferred from Woodville to Barbers Hill for his senior season, completed 9-of-14 passes for 227 yards and 4 touchdowns in his first game wearing the Eagles uniform. The Barbers Hill offense was clicking from the start, jumping out to a 24-0 lead after the first quarter and finishing with 449 total yards. The Eagles finished with 286 passing yards and 163 rushing yards while improving to 1-0 on the season. 🔥 BIG PERFORMERS Luke Babin — Barbers Hill QB / Baylor Commit 🏈 9-of-14 passing 🏈 227 passing yards 🏈 4 TD passes 🏈 0 INT Babin's debut is one of the biggest storylines coming out of Week 1. The four-star quarterback transferred to Barbers Hill from Woodville after an outstanding junior season in which he threw for 3,063 yards and 40 touchdowns with just 5 interceptions, while adding 562 rushing yards and 7 rushing TDs. Babin is ranked as a four-star quarterback in the 2027 class and committed to Baylor after previously being committed to Vanderbilt. On3 reported that Baylor ultimately beat out Oklahoma State and Houston for his commitment. Kaegan Morton — Barbers Hill WR/CB 🔥 5 receptions 🔥 173 receiving yards 🔥 3 touchdowns Morton was arguably the biggest playmaker of the night, averaging an incredible 34.6 yards per reception. His 173 receiving yards were also his most of the season. Miles Spurlock — Barbers Hill RB 💪 15 carries 💪 106 rushing yards 💪 1 TD Spurlock gave the Eagles a strong presence in the running game and averaged 7.1 yards per carry. 🐾 NIMITZ TOP PERFORMERS Nimitz QB Jepreston Johnson completed 4-of-8 passes for 34 yards in the opener. William Toliver led the Cougars in receiving with 2 catches for 22 yards, while Trishawn Flowers finished with 4 rushing yards. Nimitz's lone touchdown came in the third quarter as the Cougars tried to battle back after Barbers Hill built a 31-0 advantage. 📈 THE LUKE BABIN STORY Babin's arrival at Barbers Hill has quietly been one of the more interesting moves in Texas high school football this offseason. The 6-foot-3, 200-pound Baylor commit transferred from Woodville after leading the Panthers to a 9-3 record in 2025. Before that, Babin helped Woodville go 13-3 as a sophomore, reaching the 3A Division II state championship game. He was also named MVP of the Rivals Houston camp in March, where recruiting scouts praised his ability to push the ball vertically, throw accurately on the move and deliver the football with velocity. Now, his first chapter at Barbers Hill begins with 227 yards, 4 touchdowns and a 38-10 victory.
