Molly Webb didn’t always believe she belonged at the front of the race.
Now a junior at Winnebago, Molly is an Illinois All-Stater and part of a defending 1A state championship team—but her biggest growth hasn’t just been on the clock.
In this episode of Ándale Run, Molly talks about how her teammates helped build her confidence, the race that changed how she saw herself as a runner, and why learning to race more aggressively helped her take another step forward.
We also talk about:
Being part of Winnebago’s championship culture
The pressure of defending a state title
Why teammates have been so important to her growth
Keeping running fun
What makes a season successful beyond winning
Learning from disappointing races
Her goals for junior year
What she wants younger runners to understand about the sport
Molly’s story is a reminder that becoming a better runner isn’t only about getting faster. Sometimes it starts with believing you belong there.
