Norfolk Southern's AGS South line is one of the most important routes in the southeast. Named for the Alabama Great Southern Railroad (reporting mark AGS) that has been operating since 1877, the AGS name stands today as an operating subsidiary of the NS between Chattanooga, Tennessee and New Orleans, Louisiana.
