Journey to Job: Real Career Stories - No LinkedIn, No Regrets

What happens when a global financial crisis derails your dream job — and the role you never wanted turns into a 17-year career you'd choose all over again? In this episode, hosts Ankit and Himanshu sit down with Dhruv Yadav, Deputy General Manager at Power Finance Corporation, to trace an accidental but deeply fulfilling journey through India's public-sector power landscape. Dhruv opens up about how the 2008 Lehman Brothers collapse rewrote his placement plans, why he still doesn't have a LinkedIn profile, and what a public-sector career really offers that private-sector fast tracks cannot — rare, policy-shaping exposure at the highest levels of government and regulation. He also breaks down how India's renewable energy sector is evolving from standalone solar to wind-solar hybridisation and battery storage, explains the A-curve and V-curve complementarity that is driving hybrid mandates, and shares the techno-commercial skills that make his role genuinely unique. His advice to freshers is both honest and warm: every job has its pluses and minuses, your journey is unique to you, and you never know where your real opportunity will come from.
