NOLAN WELLS: NEW FEDERAL CHARGES — What Are They Trying to Hide?
New federal charges have added another layer to the investigation surrounding the death of 18-year-old Nolan Wells — but there is an important distinction that can easily get lost online.
The people facing federal charges are not charged with Nolan Wells’ death. The federal cases involve allegations of threats directed at people, offices and witnesses connected to the investigation. Two defendants, Joseph Dumarce and Edward Porter, have pleaded not guilty, with federal trials scheduled for October and November. Other federal allegations have also emerged in connection with threats surrounding the case.

So why have these Nolan Wells federal charges become such a significant part of the story?
In this documentary, we examine the latest Nolan Wells investigation, the federal threat cases, the role of Jackson County Chancery Judge Ashlee Cole, the witnesses and officials reportedly targeted, and what these proceedings could — and could not — reveal about the wider Nolan Wells death investigation.
We also return to the unanswered questions surrounding Nolan’s July 4 trip to Horn Island, the timeline before his body was found on July 6, and the conflicting public accounts surrounding his final known hours.
The family-commissioned independent autopsy reported Nolan’s cause and manner of death as undetermined pending further investigation. Separately, officials said the state autopsy had been completed and that its findings would be presented to a grand jury; those results have not been publicly released.

That distinction matters.
An unreleased autopsy is not automatically proof of a cover-up. Federal threat charges are not murder charges. And allegations contained in criminal complaints are not established facts.
But the central question remains:
As federal cases move forward, what could they reveal about the circumstances surrounding the Nolan Wells investigation — and what will remain unanswered?
This video examines the evidence, the publicly reported timeline, the federal allegations, the autopsy issue and the questions that remain without turning speculation into fact.
Nolan Wells. Federal charges. Witness threats. Horn Island. Autopsy. Grand jury. Mississippi investigation.
The questions remain.
