Quick riffs: Dragon Attack [Queen] guitar lesson

Here's a look at the riffs that appear in Dragon Attack by Queen. The funky main riff is a simple D minor pentatonic piece that doesn't require much finger movement, but you do need to lightly palm mute it with your picking hand and it's played fairly quick. It's a nice exercise in walking the fingers between notes. If you want to be really authentic, you also need to release the muting to add the quick little natural harmonics on the fifth fret. There is a lot of chugging and muted hits going on through the song, which add to the funky feel. It's very much a feel piece rather than sticking rigidly to any notes.
