The Israelites ate manna in the wilderness for forty years, yet an entire generation died without entering the Promised Land. They experienced God's miraculous provision, but that bread could not give them eternal life. In John 6:41–51, Jesus reveals something greater than the manna their ancestors ate. He declares, “I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever” (John 6:51, ESV).
