In this week’s Live, I shared how to make an easy Christmas wreath card using the foliage stamps from the Noel Tidings stamp set. This was one of the cards we made at Coffee & Cards this week, and it is a lovely way to use individual leaf and foliage stamps to create a full wreath. I showed how to build the wreath using Mossy Meadow ink first, followed by Old Olive ink to add extra depth and contrast. I stamped mine freehand, but I also showed an easy way to draw a light circle first if you would like a guide to help keep your wreath shape even. You can also change the look of the wreath by stamping off the second colour before stamping, which gives you a softer layer and more contrast between the two greens. I also showed how I sponged around the edges of the panel in either Old Olive or Cherry Cobbler to give the finished card a little more depth. Along the way, I shared several practical card-making tips, including how I re-ink my ink pads, how to avoid over-inking your stamps, and how to get a clearer stamped image by pressing and holding rather than pushing too hard. For the sentiment, I used “Season’s Greetings” from the Noel Tidings stamp set. Because the sentiment was a little long for the smaller note card, I showed how I fussy cut it and separated the words so they could be arranged to fit the card more easily. To finish the card, I added a double Linen Thread bow and coloured Basic Rhinestones using the Dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blend so the embellishments coordinated with the rest of the card. I also added a little stamping to the inside of the card and the envelope. I made a few different versions so you can see how changing the sponging, border colour and sentiment placement can give the same Christmas wreath card a slightly different look. This project is a good example of how versatile foliage stamps can be. You do not need a dedicated wreath stamp to make a wreath card – you can often create one simply by repeating leaf, foliage or pine-style stamps in a circular shape. During the Live, I also shared some other ideas using the Noel Tidings stamp set and coordinating dies, including another wreath card and a fun fold card. There are lots of possibilities with this set for Christmas card making.
