In this video, I examine the actual program beyond its marketing claims. We begin with the official IIT Patna portals, the transition from BSc to BS, the two available specialisations and the five-year BS-MS pathway. I also explain why statistics such as the advertised highest package should be interpreted carefully. Some figures displayed on the website represent multiple IIT Patna programs and are not placement statistics specifically for students pursuing these BS degrees. The video covers: AI & Cyber Security vs Computer Science & Data Analytics Curriculum and specialisation choices Complete fee structure shown at the time of recording BSc, BS and BS-MS exit pathways Science-stream and Class 12 eligibility JEE, NEET, CUET, BITSAT and other entrance routes IITP-SAT and the virtual interview process Live online classes and weekly academic workload Online examinations and optional IIT Patna campus immersion Internship and placement claims Missing program-level median and average placement data IIT Patna vs IIT Madras vs IIT Guwahati Who should actually consider this program The program offers flexible exit qualifications: a Foundation Certificate after Year 1, a Diploma after Year 2, a BSc (Hons) degree after Year 3, a BS degree after Year 4 and a BS-MS degree after completing five years. I also discuss the live online class structure, weekly workload, semester examination fees and the option to appear for end-semester examinations at IIT Patna while participating in academic and cultural activities on campus. In the placement section, I analyse the internship and job-offer numbers published for IIT Patna's hybrid programs. I also explain why students should ask for course-specific placement statistics, including the number of eligible students, students placed, median package and average package. Finally, IIT Patna is compared with the IIT Madras BS and IIT Guwahati BSc programs based on fees, academic rigour, examination mode, flexibility and opportunities to visit the campus. IIT Patna may make sense for students who want a flexible technology degree with live classes and optional campus exposure. However, you should carefully compare the curriculum, total cost, learning format and available placement information before making your decision. This is not a paid IIT Patna review. The objective is to help you evaluate the program based on your academic interests, preferred learning format and career plans. Program fees, eligibility rules and admission policies can change. Always check the official IIT Patna website before applying.
