Welcome back to the Hof Bergmann Farm Timelapse. We start the day in the poultry house, feeding the birds and cleaning out the barns. Next, we head over to the cowshed to tidy up and collect manure. To put this resource to good use, we’ve constructed a fertilizer production facility. For the production process, we supply it with manure from our livestock, lime from our quarry, and water transported from the pond. With all three ingredients delivered, the fertilizer production line is launched. Once the facility is running, we shift back to fieldwork. We prepare our combine harvester for the corn harvest, equipping it with a new corn header and transporting it to the field. After the corn is harvested, the grain is delivered directly to our crop storage facility. Our next task is to handle the leftover straw collection. Using a forage trailer, we gather the straw left on the stubble and transport it to the compost trench. After the entire field’s straw is delivered, we compact the material and cover the trench with plastic film, starting the fermentation process that will eventually produce compost.
