flyingfish is the solo project of American musician Sam Fishman from Phoenix, Arizona. Emerging online in 2023, Fishman gained rapid attention in the shoegaze scene after his debut single “wonder if u care” went viral on TikTok and streaming platforms.  Initially creating instrumental shoegaze tracks using guitar sounds and digital production tools, flyingfish built a following through self-produced bedroom recordings that blend hazy guitar textures, ambient noise, and emotional melodies.  His early releases include the EP “Isolation” (2023) and “The Way Night Falls” (2023), which helped establish him as part of the new wave of internet-driven shoegaze sometimes referred to as “zoomergaze.”  Still in his teens, Fishman writes, records, and produces most of his music himself, developing a sound that mixes classic shoegaze influences with modern alternative and indie rock elements while building a growing audience through online platforms and live shows.
