George Kamurasi elected new Tooro King: Who is he?

Tooro Kingdom’s succession process has taken a major turn following reports that the Royal Succession Committee has selected 36-year-old George Desmond Kamurasi to succeed the late King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV. According to Andrew Mwenda, 15 of the 18 committee members who attended a September 4 meeting in Fort Portal backed Kamurasi. But who is the man who could become Tooro’s next Omukama? Kamurasi has spent years in Britain, holds British nationality according to UK company records and has a background in football and sports coaching. Ashford United records also list George Kamurasi among players who made more than 100 appearances for the English non-league club.
