This performance was a highlight of the International Ramayana Festival organized by Maharashtra Tourism in Mumbai. Titled "Sita: The Ramayana Revisited," this production offers a unique Southeast Asian perspective on the timeless story of Rama, Sita, and Ravana. About the Performance: The Integrated Performing Arts Guild (IPAG), founded in 1978, is one of the most acclaimed dance-drama companies in the Philippines. In this special 1 hour and 20-minute production, they weave together: Traditional Folklore: Drawing from the Filipino epic Darangen and the folk tradition of Maharadia Lawana (the Filipino version of the Ramayana). Cultural Fusion: A vibrant blend of indigenous Filipino music, traditional dance styles, and contemporary multimedia elements. The Narrative: The story follows the familiar journey of Sita’s abduction and rescue but is told through the lens of local Filipino symbols and spiritual expressions, featuring characters like Raya Mangandiri (Rama), Raya Mangawarna (Lakshmana), and Potri Malano Tiaya (Sita). Celebrate the universal values of loyalty, trust, and harmony as expressed through this stunning international performance. @ChawlaRajat 00:00 - Introduction and Welcome 02:50 - Lamp Lighting Ceremony 05:15 - Address by MD, MTDC (Abhimanyu Kale) 09:50 - Remarks by Director Stephen Fernandez (Integrated Performing Arts Guild) 13:00 - Keynote by Tourism Minister, Maharashtra (Jaykumar Rawal) 21:50 - Vote of Thanks and Introduction to the Performance 26:35 - Overview of "Sita: The Ramayana" Performance 31:30 - Performance Begins: The Spirits of Lanka and Hanuman's Arrival 47:20 - Rama's Search and the Vanara Army's Preparation 52:25 - Sita in Lanka and Dialogue with Lawana (Ravana) 1:09:00 - The Great War: Rama vs. Lawana 1:39:00 - The Aftermath and Sita's Trial 1:46:20 - Closing Ceremony and Group Photograph
