VFAQ (Very Frequently Asked Questions): Why do you use C over Cpp? The two things I value most is speed in writing and speed in executing code. C lets me prototype incredibly fast and stays out of my way. Its standard library is insanely reliable and most importantly predictable when it comes to what's going on under the hood. Why do you use OpenGL over Vulkan? I run my graphics projects on a surface book 2, on a gpu that barely supports 460, and I make sure to support 430. There is absolutely 0 benefit in me using Vulkan since OpenGL runs better on my machines. If I had a better computer, I would use Vulkan. Nevertheless, I highly disagree that one is "easier" than the other or that OpenGL is useless. I write my projects so that people might use them, including people with outdated machines like me. Why are you not on linux? I have a microsoft laptop, meaning that the drivers are entirely dependent on windows. I'm aware linux-surface exists, but it does not fix the nvidia mobile drivers that are dependent on specific versions that are only on windows. Once again, if I had a better computer, I would develop on linux. Do you work in programming? No, my only jobs have been in food service. My goal is to continue improving my programming and expanding my skillset while creating these graphics projects, as I've been doing for the past two years. Do you use AI / What is your opinion on AI? I occasionally ask AI questions when there are limited resources available and when I want to double check before implementing something difficult. My opinion on AI is that it was simply designed to make the rich richer and also limit the creativity of ordinary people. Therefore I try to avoid it when possible. I have never and will never have AI make changes to my codebase directly. I enjoy programming and so I see no need to stop doing it.
