DIY Messina, Sicily from the Cruise Port | Food Stops, Views & Budget Breakdown! Who says you need a tour to enjoy Messina? Straight off the cruise ship, we dove into this charming Sicilian port our way—with good food, easy walks, and killer views. No excursions, no stress, just a chill (and affordable!) day in Italy. 💶 TOTAL SPEND: Around $26 for two — and that includes coffee, lunch, dessert, and more! 📍 Here's what we did: Off the ship and straight to Bar Irrera for our first coffee hit + possibly the best cannoli ☕ ➡️ Walked up to Sacrario di Cristo Re for those sweeping views (free!) 🏞️🍹 Pit stop at Bar Eden for mid morning snack 🍧🍞🕛 Caught the Astronomical Clock Show at noon in Piazza Duomo (free!)🍽️ Had a casual and tasty lunch at Famulari - best arancini + rustici 🍨 Finished with a gelato from a spot right across the cruise port Then we just vibed—people-watched while everyone got back on board, soaked in the city views from the top deck, had dinner on the ship, and watched a perfect Sicilian sunset at sea. 🌅 🎯 This is one of the easiest DIY port days we've done—everything’s walkable, and Messina delivers the views and the food without breaking the bank.
