I Turned a Vintage TV Console Into a Retro Display Cabinet

I inherited this family heirloom TV console from the 60’s and couldn’t not revamp it! I gutted the original TV and turned the empty shell into a functional display/storage unit, added LED lighting throughout, and even figured out how to power the lights with the original radio switch—thanks to a little help from my Papa. The knobs and tuner still move like the old days, and while I couldn’t restore the radio itself, I kept the look and feel as authentic as possible. This was also my first time working with real wood and finishing techniques—and I’ve got a whole new respect for furniture makers now. Still deciding where this will live in my home, but I’m planning to install speakers and maybe even a record player in the left cubby. Want to try something like this yourself?
