Kanha, Radha, Tara and Madhumangal are almost ready for Navratri when Kanha shows everyone an experiment that looks impossible!
A transparent cup is filled with purple decorative water. Kanha covers the opening with a flat card, carefully turns the cup upside down over a tray and slowly removes the support.
Everyone expects—
💦 SPLASH!
But nothing falls.
The card stays under the cup.
The water stays inside.
Madhumangal stares in shock:
“पानी नीचे गिरना भूल गया?!” 😂
Did gravity stop working? Is the card super strong? Did the water somehow stick to it?
Kanha decides to investigate.
💨 THE INVISIBLE CLUE
Kanha asks a simple question:
“हमें हवा दिखाई देती है?”
No.
But does that mean air is not there?
Of course not!
Air is all around us, and air can push.
Kanha gives children the key idea:
“हवा दिखती नहीं… लेकिन हवा भी धक्का देती है।”
That invisible push is called:
AIR PRESSURE —
Gravity is still pulling the water downward. But in the properly covered upside-down cup, outside air pressure pushes upward on the card and helps keep it against the opening.
The mystery is not magic.
It is science!
🧠 PREDICT BEFORE THE RESULT
Kanha now prepares two setups.
Setup 1: The card completely covers the cup opening.
What will happen when the cup turns upside down?
Pause and guess!
The support is removed…
😲 The card stays.
💜 The water stays inside.
Now Kanha changes just one thing.
Setup 2: A small gap is left at one edge of the card.
What will happen now?
Madhumangal makes his prediction.
Then—
💦 SPLASH!
Air gets inside more easily, the pressure conditions change, the card loses support and the purple water falls safely into the tray.
Now Madhumangal finally understands the mystery.
“Gravity पानी को नीचे खींच रही है…”
And Kanha completes it:
“…और बाहर की air pressure card को ऊपर support कर रही है!”
🌟 WHAT CHILDREN LEARN
This fun Krishna STEM story introduces children to air pressure, gravity, invisible air, prediction, fair testing, observation, cause and effect, and the idea that changing one part of an experiment can change the result.
The experiment follows a simple scientific-thinking pattern:
Predict → Test → Observe → Compare → Explain
The most important takeaway is:
“हवा दिखती नहीं… लेकिन हवा भी धक्का देती है।”
💜 NAVRATRI + SCIENCE
The experiment happens during colourful Navratri preparation with purple decorations, flower garlands, dandiya and decorated matkis.
Once the mystery is solved, the cup is safely returned upright, the experiment is put away and Madhumangal grabs his dandiya:
“Mystery solved—अब Garba!”
