Catalina Island Cruise Day 🏝️ | Biking, Drinks, Food + What to Do in One Day!

DAY 2 of our Carnival Radiance cruise and we're getting OFF the ship to explore beautiful Catalina Island! 🏝️🚢 If your cruise stops in Catalina and you're wondering what you can actually do without booking a big excursion.... this is for you. We decided to explore Catalina Island on our own, rent bikes and just GO. And honestly? It ended up being exactly the kind of day I needed. 💕 🚲 OUR DAY IN CATALINA: ✨ Took the tender from Carnival Radiance to Catalina Island 🚲 Rented bikes and explored the island 🍹 Made a drink stop along the way 🌴 Rode around taking in the views 🍽️ Stopped for food 🍦 Obviously had to get ice cream 💕 Walked around downtown Avalon 📸 Took in all the gorgeous scenery 🚢 Then made our way back to Carnival Radiance One thing I loved about Catalina is that you don't necessarily need a packed itinerary. Rent a bike. Grab a golf cart. Explore. Stop when somewhere looks good. Have a drink. Get some ice cream. Take the picture. Sit by the water. Sometimes getting my pink back is realizing I don't have to optimize every second of an experience. I can just enjoy where I am. 💕 🚲 BIKE OR GOLF CART? If you're visiting Catalina Island during a cruise, biking and golf carts are two popular ways to explore Avalon without spending your entire day walking. We chose BIKES, which made it so easy to stop for drinks, food and views whenever we wanted. If you want something a little more relaxed, look into renting a golf cart and cruising around Avalon instead. Either way, give yourself time to WALK too! Catalina is absolutely beautiful and part of the experience is simply slowing down and enjoying the scenery. 🚨 CRUISE TIP: Catalina Island is a tender port, meaning the cruise ship anchors offshore and you'll take a smaller boat to get between the ship and the island. Make sure you know when you need to be back onboard and give yourself PLENTY of time to get back to the tender area. Do not let that ship leave you, girl. 😂 💕 GETTING MY PINK BACK This whole trip was my reminder that it's okay to pick yourself sometimes. Motherhood, work and everyday life can have us constantly moving from one responsibility to the next. Then you get somewhere like Catalina — riding a bike with a drink stop in the middle of the day, eating ice cream and staring at the ocean — and remember that life is supposed to be ENJOYED too. You can be a great mom AND make space for the woman you are outside of motherhood. Both things can be true.
