The final Saturn game in the Sega Worldwide Soccer series and also the last one to be made by Sega itself. The terrible Dreamcast titles were made by Silicon Dreams and are more sequels to their dire football games Olympic Soccer & World League Soccer '98. World Cup '98 France, takes the Sega side of the series out on a high with some great gameplay and smooth 60fps action. Improving on the game mechanics of Sega Worldwide Soccer '98, it's just a shame this version only features teams from the 1998 World Cup final, there also a limited selection of modes and no league mode options, making it little more than a knockout match system. Interestingly the game does feature a team edit option to rename players, as it's clear the developers didn't have a final team roster when the game was released. So a number of players are included who didn't make the final cut. England fans will spot Paul Gascoigne in the default list, who famously wasn't selected for the finals and Michael Owen who made his debut at the finals is also missing from default team roster. Sadly we can't recreate the terrible England vs Iceland match of Euro 2016, but you can watch Argentina beat England again in this video.
