She Poured Tea for Her Sister's Suitor — Until He Whispered, "I Came for You"

She Poured Tea for Her Sister's Suitor — Until He Whispered, "I Came for You" For six weeks, the Duke of Orme has called on the Bell family every Tuesday — ostensibly to court the beautiful younger daughter. Lavinia, the plain elder sister, has done what she always does: poured the tea, made the conversation, and told herself she is the help, not the prize. Then, on his seventh visit, as she hands him his cup, the duke leans close and says four words meant for her alone. Her hand shakes. Her sister doesn't notice. Nothing in the quiet, overlooked life Lavinia had resigned herself to will ever be simple again. What follows is a secret walk, a mother who cannot accept the truth, and a formidable dowager who arrives to judge her unworthy. Can the woman who was never meant to be chosen learn to believe a duke truly came back for her, not her sister? duke romance, regency romance, historical romance audiobook, clean romance story, romance short story, duke and plain heroine, overlooked sister romance, regency england romance, love story audiobook, period drama romance, slow burn romance, sweet romance for women, duke falls in love, tea and courtship romance, dismissed heroine chosen by duke, disapproving dowager duchess, forbidden by family romance, wholesome historical romance, Kent regency romance
