→ Join me aboard a flight west as we travel between Phoenix and San Francisco in an ultimate attempt to make it back to Tucson! After all, I am an avgeek, so the most indirect route is the best route. We begin at PHX's gate E1, pushback, and make our way to runway 25R for takeoff. I can only imagine how blinding the low winter sun in the due west was for the pilots. Yeesh. However, the westerly heading did not last long as we make a sweeping right bank to the north and fly the ZEPER2 departure. We climb over Arizona, the cruise past Las Vegas, the rest of Nevada and finally into the state of California, where we begin a gradual descent into SFO and land firmly on runway 28R. Would you believe me if I told you there was another aircraft directly next to us for runway 28L, but I was, again, on the wrong side of the plane? If not, you should.. Because it happened... One day, I'll be on the correct side. We make a swift taxi to the next-ish D concourse of United at SFO and park at gate D9, where this full flight comes to an end.
