Apparently, going to school in the Balkans was an EXPERIENCE. 😂🎒 Today I'm reacting to “Balkan Schools Were Different,” and this is exactly the kind of cultural video I love because school isn't just about what happens in the classroom. It's also about the teachers, rules, friendships, discipline, traditions, expectations, food, humor, and all those completely normal childhood experiences that can look absolutely bizarre to someone from another country. Growing up in America, there were so many things about school that I assumed were universal. Then you start talking to Europeans and quickly discover: “Nope. That's just you guys.” 😂 Now we're heading specifically into the Balkans, and I'm VERY curious to see how much of this is genuinely shared across the region and how much varies dramatically depending on the country, generation, or individual school. Because obviously “the Balkans” isn't one single culture, and someone's experience growing up in Croatia could be completely different from someone growing up in Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Albania, Bulgaria, Romania, Greece, or elsewhere in the region.
