Gary Holloway of the Agency of Commerce and Community Development presented the downtown designation program, which would upgrade Hardwick from village to downtown status and unlock annual transportation grants up to $100,000 with a one-to-one match. The board discussed appointing a downtown commission and directed staff to draft a resolution for the next meeting. The board voted to repaint downtown crosswalks with a white border and rust infill pattern and to paint no-parking lines at the post office corner and in front of the Clip Joint, deferring larger pedestrian buffer changes until the 2022 V-Trans paving. Laraway Mountain Construction was selected as low bidder for the public safety building and depot roof replacement.
