TWIN CREEK CRYSTAL MINE-MOUNT IDA, ARKANSAS-EP26

Drove to Twin Creek Crystal Mine in Mount Ida, west of Hot Springs, AK, where we were Glamping . There are a few quartz crystal mines in that area. Twin Creek Crystal mine is really off the beaten path. We took a 2.6 mile windy road which led us to a 2 mile rough, one lane, gravel road through the woods and then down a dirt road to the digging area. It was a rough ride but our Honda made it!! I had a blast, even though it was sunny and 90 degrees!! I found lots of "pretties"! Because we live in an RV, I was limited in how big the crystal could be.... I was tempted by the big guys. Mark had a blast too, reading a good book under the SHADE of some trees. He didn't work too hard... but he did break a sweat.....
