Upon These Shores - Saltburn by Sea, North Yorkshire

Back in my birth place of Saltburn by Sea. Saltburn is a charming seaside resort that has managed to retain its unique charm through the centuries. Located in North Yorkshire, Saltburn by the Sea (to give it its full title) has been a popular coastal town since the Victorian era. Steeped in history, this picturesque seaside town is located north of Whitby and south of Redcar and bordered by the impressive Hunt Cliff. While it is a popular relaxing hub that attracts many a family, Saltburn has been gaining popularity among surfers. In fact, the town is considered to be one of the best surfing spots in the UK, with several national events held annually. And even if you are not a water sports addict, you can still appreciate its long beach, its restored Victorian treasures, and it lovely Valley gardens. Over the years, I've often fished here, both beach casting and off the pier (which was double in length, before it suffered extensive damage to the seaward end of Pier in October 1974). These days however, I'm more likely to catch a nice sunset on my cameras, and drone. Hope you enjoy this short video.
