JVHS Mixed Chorus 2025 - Dies Irae - Michael John Trotta

Jersey Village High School Varsity Mixed Choir 2025 UIL (at VPAC) April 8, 2025 Dies Irae - Michael John Trotta (2020) Gregory Moore, Director Dies irae, dies illa Solvet saeclum in favilla, Teste David cum Sibylla. Day of wrath and day of mourning, See the world in ashes burning, Heard by prophets’ ancient warning. Mors stupebit et natura, Cum resurget creatura, Iudicanti responsura. Death shall stand in speechless wonder, As creation wakes from under, Answering the Judge in thunder. Recordare, Iesu pie, Quod sum causa tuae viae; Ne me perdas illa die. Kindly Jesus, think, I pray, I’m the reason for Thy way; Lose me not on judgment day. Dona eis requiem. Grant them rest. Salva me. O save me.
