Brenda is one of my personal favourites, and Urban Legend is one of my favourite post-Scream movies. The first ten minutes could be it's own self contained story, while the rest takes place on campus like Scream 2 did the year before, although, the setting sets up the killer's costume by implying the events are taking place after or shortly before winter. Speaking of, the absolute best design choice was for the killer to not wear any sort of mask that directly contrasts with its appearance, in the movie, the killer wears a black ski mask / balaclava which blends into the darkness of the hood, creating an excellent illusion that I love coming back to because of how unique it is. The theme of urban legends also make the killer more creative and the kills more interesting as every detail is recreated and their deaths become immortalized as details in a bigger, better urban legend. Last thing, it's a shame this movie referred to as a blatant ripoff of Scream, personally i don't see the criticism there, instead I lump this movie with the post-Scream slasher boom along with IKWYDLS, Lover's Lane, Cherry Falls, Final Stab, Valentine and Wishcraft, before the horror genre changed with Saw's release.
