Halo's Future is Spin-off Games

With conflicting rumors that the next Halo game could be a remake of Combat Evolved or an unnamed 'Halo 7', it seems 343 Industries has learned nothing from their past mistakes. Despite the massive potential of the Halo franchise to tell new spin-off stories outside the mainline series, there's no indication that this is happening.
