Metallica - The Call of Ktulu - Bass Only (by Jason Newsted)

Notes: Ripped from the S&M DVD. The DVD has multiple audio channel options giving you the possibility of getting somewhat isolated tracks from one another. You can get the Band only (with faint Orchestra in the background); Instrumental (with faint vocals in the backround); Orchestra only (with faint Band sounds in the background); and Vocals only (with faint music in the background). Since The Call of Ktulu is the only instrumental in the setlist the vocal track for that one is Jason's isolated bass guitar, which is exactly what you're hearing here. Something interesting I've noticed is the track doesn't actually seem to align 100% with what we've been seeing Jason play in the official video. My guess is that there must've been quite a bit of re-recording in the post production process resulting in some discrepancies between what was played that evening and what you're hearing on the DVD. (But all that's normal really and not a big deal...) Anyway, enjoy! \\m//
