Today, I am taking you to a beautiful place in Azad Kashmir, Pakistan, known as Pir Chinasi. It is a high mountain destination near Muzaffarabad, famous for its shrine, green mountains, forests, cold weather, and amazing views above the clouds.
I am a solo biker, and this time I started my motorcycle journey from Muzaffarabad to Pir Chinasi. The distance on my route was around 27 km, and the road was fully paved. Normally, it takes around 1.5 to 2 hours by bike, depending on weather and road conditions. The journey itself is beautiful, with winding mountain roads and stunning views along the way.
After around 40–50 minutes of riding, I stopped at a roadside hotel and viewpoint overlooking Muzaffarabad. Light rain soon turned into heavy rain, and the temperature dropped. I waited for almost an hour for the weather to improve before continuing my ride towards Pir Chinasi. But when I finally reached the top, the rain started again!
*Pir Chinasi, Muzaffarabad* stands at around 2,900 metres (9,500 feet) above sea level. It is famous for the shrine of Hazrat Syed Hussain Shah Bukhari, which attracts visitors and pilgrims from different parts of Pakistan. From the mountain top, you can enjoy views of deep valleys, forest-covered mountains, and surrounding Himalayan ranges when the weather is clear.
Pir Chinasi is also known for its cool climate, especially compared to Muzaffarabad city. During clear weather, the green meadows and mountain peaks look incredible, while clouds can cover the entire landscape within minutes.
During this journey, I also share local stories and beliefs about Pir Chinasi. Some local people believe that a lion visits the shrine every Thursday, although not everyone claims to have seen it. Local Gujjars and Bakarwals also have their own traditions and stories connected with the area. These are local beliefs and traditions, shared as part of the region's culture.
I also discuss the situation in Kashmir after the lockdown and share my experience of travelling through this beautiful region.
Unfortunately, the heavy rain continued until around 5 PM, so I could not show you the green meadows and beautiful mountain views I had planned to explore. However, I am also sharing some beautiful clips from my 2025 visit to Pir Chinasi so you can still enjoy the scenery.
