Cinematic and emotional ambient music inspired by The Last of the Mohicans, created for strength, freedom and reflection. An ambient reinterpretation inspired by the film’s unforgettable soundtrack and its main musical themes. I already knew the main theme long before watching the film. It is almost impossible not to recognise it, and without a doubt, it remains one of the film’s greatest achievements. What surprised me was discovering that the melody at the heart of Promontory comes from The Gael, originally written by Scottish musician Dougie MacLean and later adapted by Trevor Jones for the film. I watched The Last of the Mohicans recently, and while the film itself left me with mixed feelings, the soundtrack is simply extraordinary. After finally experiencing the music within its original story and images, creating an ambient around it felt inevitable. There is something in this theme that feels calm and powerful at the same time. It carries a constant sense of movement, strength and freedom without needing to become aggressive. This ambient is my attempt to stay close to that feeling while giving the music more room to breathe.
