The Final Minutes of Family Guy’s Final Broadcast on Adult Swim (September 18, 2021)

Well, we've reached the end of an era. After an incredible 18-year run as one of the block's most iconic programs, which certainly wouldn't have ever ended if Disney didn't purchase the show's production company, Family Guy aired on Adult Swim for the very last time on September 18, 2021. From now on, reruns will be exclusive to FXX and Freeform. Say what you will about how bad the show has become in more recent years, but without Adult Swim, Family Guy wouldn't have gotten even nearly as much love from Fox as it once deserved, since its popularity on [AS] played a big part in why the series was brought back from cancellation. Thankfully, unlike TBS when THEY aired the show for the final time, Adult Swim gave the series a proper farewell: they aired a special bumper immediately after the final broadcast, featuring the Griffins and a group of many other Adult Swim cartoon stars waving goodbye to each other. They're just as sad as we are. But to quote the legendary Dr. Seuss, "Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened."
