The Cryopod Gamble Pays Off! - ARK Survival Ascended - Aberration (EP425)

Today’s adventure in ARK Survival Ascended Aberration begins with a simple goal: craft some much needed cryopods and, if everything goes according to plan, maybe even a cryofridge. The first step is gathering all the resources needed for the job. Once everything is ready, this Old Man hops on the Spino and heads out in search of something that has become surprisingly important on Aberration: an elusive loot drop. Not too far into the journey, I spot a green loot drop sitting right on the edge of the Fertile River. This looks like the perfect opportunity to put the plan into action, but there is one small problem. I need the supply crate to stick around long enough for me to finish crafting. Fortunately, this part of the plan goes remarkably well. Within the first few minutes of the adventure, I manage to craft four cryopods. For this Old Man, that is a pretty satisfying victory, especially on Aberration where getting the right resources and equipment can be a challenge. With the cryopods safely in hand, it is time to return to base and see if I can take things one step further. A quick check of the storage reveals that I actually have enough resources to craft a cryofridge. Now the mission changes. I gather everything I need and head back out, hoping lightning will strike twice and another supply crate will give me the chance to complete the job. This time, however, Aberration has other plans. I search far and wide, checking different parts of the map for another suitable supply crate, but the second crafting opportunity never appears. After a long search, I have to accept that the cryofridge mission will have to wait for another day. Still, crafting four cryopods early in the episode is a huge win for this solo PVE adventure, and it gives me another useful piece of equipment as I continue opening up Aberration. There is still plenty more crafting to do, plenty more of Aberration to explore, and I have a feeling the next supply crate will not be nearly as easy to find.
