A high-standing social figure visits the residence of his struggling employee, only to find his reality dismantled by an elaborate act of revenge, and a new technology. Follow "Obidias" in his desperate search for an exit whilst "The Administrator" delivers a lineup of some of the most disorienting and potentially enlightening mental phenomena known to man (also there's impact frames).
I don't recommend watching if you are susceptible to photosensitivity or absolute cinema.
After 8 months it's finally done! With a state award nomination too! Over time I'll probably release breakdowns and timelapses of this project but for now here are some stats:
300 total hours of VFX and Animation (99% in After Effects)
Over 13 reshooting sessions
Over 400GB of storage taken up
Too many computer crashes for this project to be considered 'stable'
3 FULL all nighters
Runtime 10 seconds below being disqualified (why did it end up being so long idk I just kept adding stuff)
Just enough mentioning of the phrase "major work" to be considered very annoying
Made using:
Adobe After Effects
Adobe Premiere Pro
Adobe Photoshop
Blender
Bandlab
Vital
All VFX, Animations and environments were created by me, I don't support the use of generative AI as a technical or creative asset. Like I said I'll release breakdowns and timelapses sometime in the future.
The plot and events in this major project are part of a fictional storyline and any similarities to real events are purely coincidental (though that would be pretty cool).
Outsourcing Acknowledgements:
Audio - Sound effects sourced from Pixabay and Zapsplat under their respective free use/licensing terms
I got some advice and tips for soundtrack composition from Dave Porter (composer of Breaking Bad) and Chris Christodoulou (composer of Risk of Rain) so thanks to those two for taking time out of their busy schedules to help me out!
Animation - Carousel Blender model sourced from the free Blender asset library, with edge and polygon effects added to it in After Effects to present a wire mesh looking visual. All other 2D and 3D animations were created by me.
Video - N/A (all self captured)
Image - N/A (all self captured)
Text - Standard licence Adobe fonts (Aldritch, Helvetica etc.) everything else was made using my custom-made font "Perceptual - Serif" (yes the naming is super lazy)
