------------------------------------------------------- O Lord Jesus Christ, our God, You who wept over Jerusalem because it did not recognize the time of its visitation nor heed the call to repentance: accept the tears of my bitterness alongside Your own tears; heal my pains with Your sufferings; soothe my wounds with Your wounds; sanctify my blood with Your blood; and heal my body through partaking of Your life-giving Body. O You whose body was exposed on the Cross, draw to Yourself my mind that has been captivated by demons. O You who bowed Your head upon the Cross, lift up to Yourself my head, which has been scorned by revilers. O You whose all-holy hands were nailed to the Cross, bring me back to Yourself from the abyss of perdition, just as Your all-holy mouth promised. O You who endured blows and spitting upon Your cheeks from blasphemers, cleanse my face, defiled by iniquities, and let Your soul—which You commended to the Father on the Cross—guide me back to You. I possess no contrite heart to seek You; I have neither repentance nor reverence to restore the children to their inheritance; I have no comforting tears, O my Master. My mind has been darkened by the cares of life and cannot gaze upon You with the contrition that turns the heart amidst many trials; it can no longer be warmed by the tears of Your love. Yet You, O Lord God Jesus Christ, Source of all goodness, grant me perfect repentance and a contrite heart, that I may go forth in search of You; for without You, I am a stranger to all goodness. + Grant me, then, Your grace, O Good One—You whom the Father brought forth from His bosom, eternally and in time. In the features of Your image, I see that—though I have forsaken You—do not forsake me; though I have separated myself from You, do not neglect me. Rather, bring me into Your pasture and number me among the sheep of Your chosen flock. Feed me, along with them, from the richness of Your divine mysteries—mysteries that dwell in the pure heart, where we behold the radiance of Your revelations, which bring comfort and rest to those who have struggled for Your sake amidst tribulations. All this comes through the grace of our Savior Jesus Christ, His love for mankind throughout the ages, and the working of Your Holy Spirit, O Father; for we call upon You—Creator and Sustainer of all—with the voice of children, saying: Our Father, who art in heaven...
