Editing Women in the Archives preserves and invites readers to interact with five decades of literary, art and lifestyle magazines pioneered, edited and sustained by Pakistani women. These act as a fantastic chronicle of women’s social and cultural history. This panel discussion includes stories about the project and the personal connections the guest speakers have to the production of these publications to celebrate the launch of the web resource. Chair: Dr Nilanjan Sarkar, Deputy Director of LSE South Asia Centre. Panelists include: Dr. Madeline Clements, Teesside University, Project co-lead. Ayesha Karim, journalist of 'She' magazine and daughter of Zuhra, its founder. Sulema Jahangir, partner of family law firm, Dawson Cornwell. Arati Banerjea, volunteer on 'Mukti' newsletter collective. 'Editing Women in the Archives' is funded by the Impact Acceleration Account at Teesside University and has been supported by LSE Library, home of The Women’s Library.
