Hearts 5-3 win against Hibs. 5/9/1964.

🗣️ “Hearts defeated their Edinburgh Derby rivals Hibernian 5-3 at Easter Road in front of 17000 people. This was part of the 1964–65 Division One season, and the match remains one of the most remarkable Edinburgh derby results from that period. Alan Gordon’s brace and Willie Wallace’s early strike set Hearts on the front foot, before Hibs fought back with two quick goals from Jim Scott. But Hearts regained control through Gordon again, Tommy White, and a late strike from Traynor to seal the win. The game was among Jock Stein’s first derbies in charge of Hibernian, he had only taken over as manager in April 1964. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Alan Gordon x2, Willie Wallace, Tommy White & Tommy Traynor against Hibs. 5/9/1964. #HeartsFC #HeartsGoals #ClassicHeartsFCGoals #HeartOfMidlothianFC
