Scouting Massachusetts public land for whitetail deer can be tough, but sometimes the work pays off fast. In this video, I spend a full day scouting public hunting land in Massachusetts, looking for fresh deer sign, travel routes, bedding areas, feeding areas, and good trail camera locations. After scouting the area, I set up several trail cameras to see what kind of whitetail activity was moving through the property. The very next day, a 6-point buck walked right in front of one of my cameras. This video covers my real-world public land deer scouting process, how I choose trail camera locations, what whitetail sign I look for, and how I narrow down areas that could produce during deer season. If you hunt public land in Massachusetts, New England, or anywhere in the Northeast, this video should give you a better idea of how to approach scouting unfamiliar ground and finding deer quickly.
