The suit came fast, the testing faster, and Gotham answered one question in the morning papers: who was the Boy Wonder. What the script tracks is the cost nobody files under the legend. The split with Bruce that reads like a divorce, the 19 abductions in his first 3 years as Robin, the fall of Jason Todd, a paralysis he carried from Blüdhaven, and the rooftop in Nightwing issue 93 where Tarantula took advantage of a body that had stopped obeying a mind in shock. Dick survives the Crime Syndicate tearing his mask off on live television, a bullet from KGBeast that wipes his memory, and the reveal that Haly's Circus was a Court of Owls recruitment engine and his parents died to keep him out of it. It ends where it needs to: with Dick choosing Blüdhaven over Gotham in the Court's final trap, defeating them with the truth instead of a punch, and standing between two cities as the proof that a fall is only the end if you let it be. The arc from circus kid to Nightwing to Batman and back again is the whole of it, and the lore around it is thorough without padding.
