The Lion King Musical (Capitol Theatre Sydney) Curtain Call - 29 August, 2026

The curtain call at my third time seeing The Lion King at Capitol Theatre. This show is notable for having 6 swing performers filling in the ensemble (unlike the first time which had 1 in the ensemble and 1 in a principal role, and the second time which had 4 in the ensemble) and 4 actors covering principal roles (just like the last time I went). It's the first show I went to in which of the following: Chaska Halliday, Asemahle Xenti, Angel Zuma, Mario Acosta-Cevallos are absent, Laila Salloum is filling in for Emily Nkomo as Nala instead of being in the ensemble, Jayme-Lee Hanekom fills in for Chaska Halliday as Sarabi, Scar is not played by Daniel Frederiksen and is played by Dean Vince (who happened to cover the role of Pumbaa when I first saw the show), Tara Bajan and Jack Rowan Connor are both in the ensemble.
