Taking an 8mm Videotape Cassette Apart (clip 41)

Pat Shevlin shows how to disassemble an 8mm video tape cassette. This cassette had been soaked in water as part of a disaster recovery workshop sponsored by the Association of Moving Image Archivists in Rochester, NY 2007. Once disassembled, the tape can be dried and put into a new shell. It is advisable to purchase a blank cassette and practice before attempting this.
