Khardung La in a Blizzard ! Jimny 4WD Works at 17500 Ft ! Leh to Diskit |Exploring Nubra Valley

We climb 18000 Ft , just 39 KM from Leh to Khardung La and meet a Blizzard Head On ! Jimny 4X4 system performs brilliantly under complete white-out conditions. We climb down into Nubra Valley and do Dune Bashing in an ATV , followed by a visit to Diskit Monastery and a ride atop a double humped Bactrian Camel in the sand dunes of Hunder ! We will only travel 140 Odd kms from Leh to Diskit and Hunder in Nubra Valley but first we need to climb all the way up to 18000 Ft and cross the mighty Khardung La Pass – which at one time was the highest motorable road in the world ! Right after crossing South Pullu we encounter a raging Blizzard and complete white out conditions. Many vehicles were stalled or stopped or in the process of putting on Snow Chains. The 4WD system of the Jimny duly engages in that high altitude and effortlessly makes the ascent and descent of the pass under heavy snow. It was an adventure of a Lifetime ! We come down into Nubra Valley and immediately do Dune Bashing in an ATV at Milkha Point. Visit to the famed Diskit Monastery and the 106 Ft Tall Buddha Statue follows. We end the day in the Hunder Sand Dunes , riding a double humped Bactrian Camel and trying our aim at Archery ! What a day it was !
