Finding Peace Among the Golden Larches 🍂 Relaxing Mountain Hike to Frosty Mountain, Manning Park BC

Join me for what was easily my favorite hike of the year. This was a stunning mid-October day at Frosty Mountain in Manning Provincial Park, with the larches in full golden color and the first snowfall arriving just one day later. The weather was absolutely perfect, warm enough for shorts and a T-shirt all the way to the summit. Along the climb, there are beautiful views of Lightning Lake below, with the surrounding mountains opening up as we make our way higher. I'll share about 15 minutes of the 2 hour climb to the larches, to give you a feel for the forest, the surroundings, and the views along the trail. From there, the focus turns to the golden larches all the way to the rocky trail to the summit, the highest point in Manning Provincial Park, before returning to the trees to enjoy the beautiful late-afternoon sunlight filtering through the golden needles. The entire hike took about 8 hours. Everything came together perfectly on this hike. The incredible mountain views, the brilliant golden larches, the warm sunshine, and the peaceful stillness made this one of those days I wish could last a little longer.
