2025 MG Windsor EV - Car Seller Review The 2025 Windsor EV is MG's 3rd EV in India after ZS EV and Comet. It's basically a rebadged Wuling Cloud EV. Positioned as "CUV" - Cross Utility Vehicle. 4m+ length, big wheelbase, EV only. Main USP is BAAS model - Battery as a Service. Key Specs - 2025 MG Windsor EV: *Battery + Motor*: 38 kWh LFP Prismatic, 134 bhp, 200 Nm, FWD *Transmission*: Single-speed Automatic *Range*: 332 km ARAI, real-world 220-270 km city, 200-240 km highway with AC *Charging*: 45 kW DC fast charge 0-80% in 55 min, 7.4 kW AC 0-100% in 6.5 hrs *Safety*: 6 airbags, ABS, EBD, ESC, Hill Hold, 360 camera, TPMS, All 4 disc brakes *Windsor EV features*: 15.6-inch touchscreen, 8.8-inch digital cluster, 135-degree reclining "AeroLounge" rear seats, panoramic glass roof, 256-color ambient lighting, wireless charging, ventilated front seats, 9-speaker Infinity audio, connected car, auto AC, PM 2.5 filter *Ground clearance*: 186mm *Boot*: 604L - biggest in segment *0-100*: 10 sec approx What owners & sellers like: 1. *Space + Comfort*: 2700mm wheelbase. Rear seat is limousine-like. 135-degree recline is segment first. 604L boot is massive. 2. *BAAS Model*: You can buy car without battery. Windsor starts at 9.99L ex-showroom + 3.5 Rs/km battery rent. Lowers upfront cost by 4-5 lakh. 3. *Features for Price*: 15.6-inch screen, glass roof, ventilated seats, 360 cam under 17L is unbeatable. 4. *City Ride*: Light steering, instant torque, silent, comfortable. Perfect for Bangalore traffic. 5. *Low Running Cost*: 1 Rs/km without BAAS, or 3.5 Rs/km + charging with BAAS. Way cheaper than petrol. Common complaints: 1. *Battery + Range*: 38 kWh is small for 2025. 332 km ARAI is less than Curvv EV 45 kWh / Nexon EV 45 kWh. Highway range anxiety is real. 2. *Build + Dynamics*: Soft suspension, body roll. Not fun to drive. Top speed limited to 150 kmph. 3. *MG After Sales*: Service network is limited vs Tata/Mahindra. Resale of MG EVs is still uncertain. 4. *BAAS Confusion*: Battery rental agreement locks you in. Second owner has to continue or buy out battery. Makes resale complicated. 5. *Design*: Looks like a big hatch, not an SUV. Some find it MPV-ish. Seller Price Review - 2026, Bangalore/Karnataka: For a 2025 Windsor EV with 5,000-15,000 km: Without BAAS - Full Ownership: *New on-road 2025*: 16.5 - 19.5 lakh in Karnataka (Essence top) *Fair resale now*: 13.5 lakh – 16 lakh *Sweet spot*: 14.5 lakh for Essence top, less than 10k km With BAAS - Battery Rental Model: *New on-road 2025*: 11 - 14 lakh (car) + battery rent *Fair resale now*: 9.5 lakh – 11.5 lakh (car only) + transfer of BAAS *Sweet spot*: 10 - 10.5 lakh for BAAS model *What pushes price higher*: Essence top variant, low km, glass roof, Infinity audio, full MG service history, DC fast charger cable *Red flags*: BAAS pending dues, accident, battery degradation, infotainment glitches, charging errors Depreciation: ∼20-25% in 1 year for full ownership model. BAAS model depreciates more because of rental bond. As a used buy: *Buy it if*: You want max space + features + low running cost for city family use. Second car for city. BAAS makes it cheapest way to get into a big EV. *Skip it if*: You need 400+ km highway range or SUV image. Tata Curvv EV 45 or Mahindra BE 6 are better for highway. Nexon EV 45 holds resale better. *Must check before buying*: 1. Full MG service history. Check battery SOH report from MG 2. Test 15.6-inch screen, 360 camera, reclining seats, glass roof 3. Check charging - both AC and DC. Check cable, battery warranty card 4. If BAAS - check agreement, per km cost, buyout price, NOC from finance 5. Insurance - check if battery is insured separately in BAAS model *Running cost estimate*: 10k-15k per year service + 15k insurance. Charging cost 0.8 to 1.2 Rs/km. *Verdict*: The 2025 Windsor EV at 14.5L (full ownership) is a "space king" value buy. 604L boot, AeroLounge seats, and 15.6-inch screen at Creta price. If you drive mostly in Bangalore (under 200 km per day), it makes lot of sense. For resale ease, pick Full Ownership model, not BAAS. BAAS is great new, but complicated used. Want me to compare Windsor EV vs Tata Curvv EV 45 vs Mahindra XEV 9E?
