Kendra's Card Challenge 23: Cards 11-15

Card 11 came together so nicely once I started playing with the patterns. The background piece has that sweet, old‑fashioned charm, almost like wallpaper in a grandma’s home. I mounted each patterned strip onto Very Vanilla, lining them up along the sentiment area so I could trim the edges cleanly. I stamped the Happy Birthday from the Scalloped Blooms stamp set in Secret Sea ink to finish the card. Card 12 is one of those layouts that always feels a little tricky because the pieces need to be spaced evenly. I first attached the strips to the Crumb Cake layer with temporary adhesive so I could adjust the spacing, then secured everything with liquid glue. That panel is popped up on a Mossy Meadow card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The sentiment is stamped in Mossy Meadow, die‑cut with a Stylish Shapes circle, and layered over a Mossy Meadow scalloped circle from the Scalloped Blooms dies. A few Antique Pearls finish the look. Card 13 took a turn from what I originally planned. I changed the whole color scheme after punching the first 1 3/4 inch circle and seeing how the circle landed on the leaves side. Each patterned circle is mounted on a 1 7/8 inch Pecan Pie circle and layered on a Very Vanilla panel embossed with the Textured Tree Ring 3D folder. That sits on a Pecan Pie layer and then an Early Espresso card base. The sentiment is stamped in Early Espresso on Very Vanilla, trimmed into a banner, and attached with mini dimensionals placed only where it wasn’t overlapping a circle. Antique Pearls add a soft finishing touch. Card 14 is rotated from the original sketch, and I skipped the jaunty angle because angled panels are always a challenge for me. I turned the sketch to match the direction of my patterned paper, which shifted the smaller panel into an embossed piece paired with the piece of patterned paper. The sentiment from Phrases & Frames is stamped in Early Espresso and layered on Pecan Pie before adding it across the panel. I finished with a few Antique Pearls. Card 15 wraps up the set. I brought in an extra piece of patterned paper for the background and ended up using the backside of one of the strips, which added Basic Gray to the color mix. After attaching the patterned strips to Very Vanilla, I cut the panel from corner to corner—though not the corner I meant to cut, but it still works. I added 1/8 inch Basic Gray strips along the edges of the patterned paper, which helps tie in the background. The sentiment is stamped in Basic Gray, the main panel is added to the card base, and the sentiment panel is popped up with dimensionals.
