How Vader Turned Sting Into A Monster

Sting was the face of WCW, the Stinger, the golden boy of Jim Crockett Promotions. Then Big Van Vader arrived and broke him. This is the dark truth about how Leon White's brutal, stiff in-ring style changed Steve Borden forever, and how it may have led to the Sting fans remember from the 1990s. In this video, we break down the story behind the Vader vs Sting feud in World Championship Wrestling. We cover Sting's rise alongside Ric Flair, Lex Luger, Rick Steiner, Scott Steiner, Barry Windham, Arn Anderson, Ricky Steamboat, Sid Vicious, and Dustin Rhodes. We look at how Vader, guided by Harley Race, showed up in WCW as a 400-pound wrecking machine. We also cover the toll it took on Sting, and the bookers, promoters, and executives who shaped it, including Bill Watts, Eric Bischoff, Jim Herd, Dusty Rhodes, Kevin Sullivan, and Ole Anderson. Was Vader the man who forced Sting to reinvent himself? Did the Vader matches, from Starrcade 1992 to Sting's darker persona, help create the Crow Sting? We look at all of it, and at how WCW's stars, including Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage, Ric Flair, Ron Simmons, Cactus Jack, Davey Boy Smith, Big Show, and Goldberg, were all part of the bigger picture.
