Halsema Highway (Original song) / International ‘Ukulele Festival of Hawai‘i 2026

In February this year, I went on a solo trip to the Philippines. First, I took a 3-hour bus up the mountain to Baguio. From there, I transferred to another bus for a 6-hour ride along the mountain roads to a very special place called Sagada. The road connecting Baguio and Sagada is the Halsema Highway. Leaving Baguio at 3 AM, I fell asleep and woke up just in time to see the sunrise, a sea of clouds, mountain views, and rice terraces. So, I wrote this song to describe the scenery of Halsema Highway and the happy times during the trip.
