This video starts at Vienna's Heldenplatz (Heroes' Square), this square is a historic square in Vienna that is part of the Hofburg. The Federal President resides in the adjacent part of the Hofburg, the Federal Chancellor on Ballhausplatz, which is connected to Heldenplatz. Unfortunately, this place also has a very dark side in history. The major National Socialist event at Vienna's Heldenplatz culminated in Adolf Hitler's speech in which he announced the absorption of Austria into the National Socialist German Reich (Nazi Deutschland). Those cheering, however, hoped for better times and did not understand or did not want to understand what National Socialism meant. After Heldenplatz I walk through the beautiful streets of Vienna.
