This video started out as a walkthrough of my favourite equipment... but quickly turned into an impassioned rant about our addiction to fancy gear. Some gear we need: a good metronome, tuner, and recording device are essential, but paying hundreds (or thousands!) for new fancy accessories is no substitute for practice. We often think that buying new equipment will bring us amazing sounds and a happy life - but until we really embrace and love the sound we make, that happiness stays out of reach.
